Leicester City will come up against one of the biggest threats to their nine-match unbeaten run in the form of Romelu Lukaku at Everton on Saturday and their chances of retaining their lead of the Barclays Premier League may hinge on how Wes Morgan copes with the Belgian.
Lukaku is in the form of his life for Everton, scoring in each of his last six BPL matches and seven in all competitions. His BPL goals tally is 12 and is bettered only by Leicester’s Jamie Vardy.
The 22-year-old has become more clinical this term and has scored with 30.8% of his shots, a conversion rate that only three players who have had 15 or more attempts can better.
Lukaku’s physical presence also gives Everton an obvious target in attack and it is no surprise that his mark of 97 aerial duels is more than double the next highest in the squad, but Morgan will represent a worthy foe.
From 65 aerial battles, the Leicester centre-back has come out on top 41 times, while his 66% duel success is easily the best of the Foxes players to have been involved in 10 or more.
Morgan’s anticipatory skills will also stand him in good stead, having made 44 interceptions this season, the joint-10th highest in the top flight.
